This Leadership Development Programme is for Leader/Managers that recognise the need and opportunity to develop their leadership abilities to positively influence and empower their people and organisation to higher levels of performance and results. Whatever Level of management or leadership influence they hold within the organisation, this Leadership Development Programme will provide them with the insights, information and practical tools that continue to strengthen and develop your effectiveness as a leader who is respected and achieves positive outcomes for those they lead.
This program is an NZQA accredited and approved course with unit standard qualifications at Level 4. It also qualifies for the NZTE Capability Voucher Scheme. Please contact LDNZ for more information on this.

The process:
This consists of a 10 module programme that is delivered fortnightly or adapted to meet our client's needs. Prior to commencement LDNZ consults with all relevant personnel to establish clearly defined outcomes for both the organisation and the participant. Expectations are also clarified regarding the organisations role and involvement in supporting the participant throughout this programme.
Mid Term Review:
This is carried out midway through the programme and provides opportunity for review of: the process, assessment of progress towards the predetermined objectives and the learning and development covered to date.
Post Course Evaluation:
Conducted upon completion, this allows for measurement and assessment of the outcomes achieved and overall develop,ent of the participant.
Module One THE KICK OFF SESSION
In this module the participant establishes a specific leadership project and measurable outcomes for the programme, specifically based around their development s a leader/manager. Participants are introduced to the LDNZ learning and development process and philosophy. An overview of the unit standards to be covered in the program and the assessment is outlined.
Module Two THE EFFECTIVE LEADER MANAGER
This module sets the stage for developing leadership and management effectiveness. It emphasises the qualities and traits that are characteristic of those who are effective in engaging people and developing their potential to achieve outstanding results. Areas of leadership development are idenitified using both 360 degree leaders behaviour profiles and personal development instruments.
Module Three DEVELOPING YOUR LEADERSHIP STYLE & EFFECTIVENESS
Identifying their own leadership style: the important focus of this module is the understanding of leadership expectations and how to manage different working styles of other people. Here the participant establishes a specific plan of action for the development of their top 3 - 5 leadership priorities.
Module Four LEADERSHIP FOCUS & PRIORITIES
This module encourages the leader/manager to evaluate their focus on time, what their highest payoff activities are and how to leverage the strength and abilities of those around them to expand their own spheres of influence and maximise their contributions to the success of the business. Through the use of practical planning tools how good organisation and planning can be made more effective.
Module Five UNDERSTANDING MOTIVATION
"What is the nature of motivation and what is its relationship to leadership?" Being able to effectively influence those that you lead and manage is perhaps one of the greatest attributes a leader can have. The purpose of this module is to assist the participant in developing greater awareness of the motivating influences and factors that contribute to building a healthy and vibrant organisational climate.
Module Six CONFLICT MANAGEMENT
The purpose of this module is to assist the leader/manager in their understanding of: both the positive and negative nature of conflict, some of the key principles in effectively managing conflict in the workplace and in influencing proactive and preventative attitudes that seek "win win" solutions.
Module Seven DEVELOPING THE POTENTIAL OF PEOPLE
Leadership by control, criticism and evaluation is a thing of the past. Today in order for people to be their best, people are looking for leaders who can provide the direction, support and encouragement needed. This module looks at "how' a leader can establ;ish an organisational climate the inspires and engages people, where both the organisation and individual objectives are realised.
Module Eight TEAM DEVELOPMENT
Being able to turn the skills of a group of people into a highly productive and performing work team is one of the skills that define great leader/managers. This module looks at what some of those important skills are that are needed to be able to achieve this: keeping the "spirit" alive, delegating to empower and grow team members, stretching the abilities of others, encouraging initiative, new opportunities and collaborative communication.
Module Nine PROGRAM REVIEW & EVALUATION
This final session provides opportunity for both the participant and their organisation to review the programme, its relevance of the skills and concepts applied, the extent to which expectations have been realised and specific results achieved. Participants are invited to make a presentation to their organisation on the achievement of their workplace projects and their individual leadership development objectives and outcomes.
